Course Structure
The Bioenergetics module is organized into four chapters, consisting of a total of 24 lectures and two live facilitated Q&As presented by our six Bioenergetics educators.
For details on each chapter, including estimated time for each lecture, explore the comprehensive chapter outline.
Please note that course presentations are pre-recorded and educators may make reference to learning materials and resources that you will access later on in the course. We reorganized the content for this program to group chapters by topic, and as a result, some information may seem to be presented out of order.
Live Q&As
Two live question and answer sessions will take place during the cohort. Please see scheduled dates below:
- Q&A #1: Week 4, Friday, August 22 from 10:00 – 11:00 am PT/1:00 – 2:00 pm ET with Terry Wahls, MD, Bob Hedaya, MD, & David Rakel, MD
- Q&A #2: Week 6, Thursday, September 4 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm PT/6:00 – 7:00 pm ET with David Haase, MD, Monique T. Class, MS, APRN-BC, & Lisa Portera, DC
Technology Requirements & Access
Please make sure your computer or mobile device meets the following technology requirements before staring the course:Requirements:
- Access to a high-speed internet connection: 3.5 Mbps download speed or higher.
- A supported operating system: Windows 7 or newer, Mac OS 10.7 or newer.
- A supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (macOS / iOS), Android (Tablet / Mobile).
- Functioning internal or external speakers.
How to access the course:
- Go to the IFM website and click Log In in the top right corner to access My Account.
- For Desktop Users:
- In My Account, select My Education from the menu on the left.
- For Mobile Users:
- In My Account, tap Sections, then choose My Education from the dropdown menu.
- In the Online Learning Platform, click the My Courses tile.
- Navigate to the APM (Advanced Practice Module) folder.
- Launch “Bioenergetics Advanced Practice Module (APM) – July 2025 Cohort Curriculum."
Registration Policy
Program materials and certificates of completion are delivered to you through your personal IFM online account. For this reason, you may not register multiple people or someone other than yourself. No registrations will be taken after 4:00 pm PT, Monday, August 4, 2025.
Participation Policy
Participants of the Bioenergetics Advanced Practice Module have six weeks from the course start date (Monday, July 28) to complete the program. Six-week access to IFM’s Clinical Practice Toolkit is included beginning on the course start date (Monday, July 28). Learners who do not complete within the time frame will lose access to all course materials. Our systems do not allow for course extensions for any reason.
Remember, it is required that you participate in this program. To fulfill the participation requirements necessary for the course to count toward certification, you must log in and complete the course, as applicable, and also complete any required knowledge checks and/or evaluations by the stated deadline. Where applicable, course knowledge check and/or evaluation instructions will be emailed to you after registration and/or at the conclusion of the course. For courses that qualify for CME/CE credit, to receive purchased CME/CE credit, you must complete any required course components by the stated deadline within the course. No partial CME/CE credit will be awarded.

Tuition is non-transferable. Failure to log in to the course with no prior written cancellation or switch will result in complete forfeiture of tuition and course materials, and the course will not count toward certification (non-refundable, non-transferable, no exceptions). Program materials are available only to registered participants. Log-in information is unique and cannot be shared. If you have completed your purchase through Affirm, your cancellation will incur an additional fee of up to 6%.
Cancellation requests must be submitted via the Course Cancellation Form. IFM will reply with a written acknowledgement once processed.

Complimentary Laboratory Testing & Interpretation Program
As part of the Bioenergetics Advanced Practice Module, program participants receive complimentary lab testing. IFM has partnered with Genova Diagnostics to offer participants this additional training opportunity. Please refer to the lab kit materials located within your course materials, for information on license requirements and how to request the lab test.- Lab kits will be available to request on August 5, 2025.
- Last day to request a lab kit is August 15, 2025.
- The deadline to submit your specimen is September 5, 2025.
Be sure to utilize the exclusive links provided in lab kit materials, as they are specifically designed for IFM lab request forms. Avoid visiting the general lab company website and utilizing a previously existing account or creating an account.
For Students, International, and Non-Licensed Degree Types
- Genova Diagnostics is licensed by CLIA, the Federal agency regulating laboratories. Check with the lab to see if you qualify or have additional questions.
- CLIA regulations require practitioners to have a licensure scope which allows them to order laboratory testing. Acceptable licenses in all 50 states include MD, DO, NP, PA and APRN. Other practitioners may have the appropriate licensure scope within their state.
- International: Partners should consult with lab representatives for availability of test kits in countries outside the US.
